Frequently Asked Questions

What is an independent advisor?

Independent advisors aren't tied to any investment products or family of funds.  Whatever your needs are, independent advisors have the freedom to choose from a wide range of options and tailor their advice to what is best for you.

What is wealth management?

Wealth Management is an investment advisory discipline that incorporates financial planning, investment portfolio management, and a number of aggregated financial services. High net worth individuals, small business owners and families often call upon wealth managers to coordinate banking, estate planning, legal resources, tax professionals, and investment management.

How is the initial consultation handled?

There is no charge for the initial consultation.  At the first meeting we will be trying to understand your individual situation to determine if we can help going forward.  It isn't uncommon for us to provide guidance or information in this first meeting and then conclude that you don't need to hire us.  If we think we can help longer term, we will outline our thoughts and ideas for you.  We will treat you the way we would like to be treated and will only reconnect with you if you request follow up.

Are clients on a fee-based platform or a commission based platform?

Both. There are advantages and disadvantages to both platforms. As a general rule, our compensation growth is based on client's asset growth.

Do you have account minimums?

We don't, but we do feel we are able to offer the greatest assistance to clients in the $100,000 to $10M asset range or above average incomes.

What are some areas the team has experience in?

Our team has experience in many areas including asset management, manager selection, retirement, and insurance planning. From an investment and insurance perspective, we have experience in mutual funds, annuities, stocks, bonds, stock options, corporate and personal retirement plans, investment advisory accounts, trusts, life insurance, long term care insurance, 1031 exchanges, non traded Real Estate Investment Trusts, Reg. Will you work with my attorney and tax professional?

Yes. We frequently work with client's legal and tax experts.

How do we determine if Newton Financial Group, LLC. is the right fit for us?

The best way is to discuss the matter in person. We will provide full disclosure with regards to cost, what we can and cannot provide, and risks. You can expect us to be patient and willing to meet with you multiple times to ensure we are the proper fit for you and your situation. You can expect us to respect you and your timetable in making decisions.

Can you help with Long Term Care Insurance or Life Insurance?

We can. We have three licensed agents in our office and frequently consult with a team of specialists at Brokerage Unlimited, Inc. in St Louis. For existing policies we can provide a detailed review and comparison of options. For those who might need insurance or additional insurance, we can help determine an appropriate benefit and structure for you and your family needs.
